Join us for an engaging look into the history and work being undertaken by the Suyematsu Farm Legacy Alliance.

Organized in 2023, the Suyematsu Farm Legacy Alliance (SFLA) is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the living legacy and heritage of Akio Suyematsu and the Suyematsu family's original farm. In November 2024, SFLA entered into an agreement with the City of Bainbridge Island to operate and manage the five acre Suyematsu Farm Historic Property. Since, then they have been working on projects to preserve the historic farmstead as a cultural, interpretive, and educational center by highlighting the history, culture, and heritage of the Suyematsus, the Island's larger agricultural heritage, and Japanese American and Indipino experiences on Bainbridge Island.

Join us for an engaging look into the work being undertaken by Moving Image Preservation of Puget Sound (MIPoPS).

Formed in 2014, MIPoPS works to preserve audiovisual heritage in the Pacific Northwest. They assist heritage organizations like the Bainbridge History Museum with converting analog video recordings into digital formats and have worked with more than 35 local archives, museums, historical societies, libraries, and heritage institutions to digitize over 8,000 videotapes.
