History Huddle - Triangle of Fire

Join us September 25 to learn about the Triangle of Fire - a vital part of the PNW’s Coastal Defense System - with our speaker, Michael Bronsdon.

The presence of the Puget Sound Naval Station in Bremerton changed much more than local history. It led to the establishment of several fortified areas throughout the region with the sole focus of protecting this valuable military facility. Three of those sites - Fort Flagler, Fort Casey, and Fort Worden - became known as the Triangle of Fire. Working alongside other Puget Sound forts like Fort Whitman, Middle Point Military Reservation, and Bainbridge Island’s own Fort Ward, these fortifications constituted the Harbor Defense of Puget Sound. They carry on their legacy of public service today as celebrated parks and historical sites.

Come learn about the Triangle of Fire’s role in our regional history and about the broader context for our very own Fort Ward as part of the Harbor Defense system.

This program is FREE so come and join us for snacks and libations. Space is limited for RSVP today!
