Join us June 26th to learn about the famous Station S here on Bainbridge Island with our speaker - retired CIA historian Gary Keeley!

In September 1939, the U.S. Navy moved a top-secret radio listening post from Fort Stevens, Oregon, to Fort Ward on Bainbridge Island in Kitsap County—just a few miles from Seattle in Puget Sound. Renamed “Station S,” the facility began intercepting Japanese communications in 1940. After World War II, its mission shifted to Cold War surveillance, focusing on messages from Russia and later North Korea. Station S operated until it was decommissioned in December 1953.

This program is FREE so come and join us for snacks and libations. Space is limited so RSVP today!
